02-28-10 rev. How to Measure 'Personal Value' and thus the General Welfare

11-20-09 In 1985 I discovered what 'Objective Measure of Personal Value' all life forms use to keep themselves alive. This is the oldest 'economic question of all, "What do we each use to measure what is good and bad for ourselves under all possible sets of physical circumstances?".

02-28-10 Objective Value must take this logical form to measured: 1 unit of x(what we value) per unit time, where time is measured by c, the speed of light. Personal value. after all, depends upon being alive to experience value.

(01-10-10)When it is the same thing for all of we life forms, then we have an "Objective Measure of the General Welfare".



For scientists, this objective measure of value must serve as the premise for a real GUT theory; since a theory is created by one or more of us and explains how things work for all of us, it must begin and end with how we basically organize information, own time cost minimization.

Below I will describe what it is, how we use it, how I discovered what our "measure of personal value is", and some implications.

Right now almost of of us use this measure unconsciously. Unconscious gets you and us dead.

What is this measure of personal value?

Actually it is a measure of personal cost to obtain what we value. It is the same cost measure for all life forms, your time alive, and we all only have one unit of time alive per unit time = 24 hours a day per day to obtain the necessities for life.

Ergo, we try to spend as little time alive as possible to obtain whatever it is we need to stay alive. That's because when we take to long, we die.

We are unconscious "own time cost minimizers".

1-30-2009 The answer to the original First Question on Front Page was; "Why won't our leaders ever ask this question: "How Do Our/my Actions COST OTHERS/you?".

Since we so very visibly live by exchange(XC) = use money; then how our actions costs others time is the the question we must ask in order to to be fair to others and maximize the common good. Yet this question, "How do my actions cost other equal persons their time?", is of course, the one our leaders never ask.

8-12-2008 rev. This "objective" measure of the common good arises directly from my refutation of "Coase's Theorem. 4-22-08 Coase's Theorem, Politics, and Scientific Publication Which led in turn to another implication: how we use this 'objective measure of value" implied what conserved geometry our universe must be based upon for us to be alive = a Moebius Strip Geometry.

"Objective" means we each can confirm that we can perceive this measure with our normal sensory apparatus,i.e. rap it with your knuckles directly or by seeing a 'gauge' move.

The common good means that this "measure of value" must be the same thing for each of us. In short, it must be how you, probably unconsciously now, measure what is good and bad for yourself by comparing the 'time costs to yourself' of alternative courses of action.

1-12-09 Once we agree upon what our in common 'objective personal value measure' is, then that directly implies a public 'moral standard' for judging how anyone's behavior affects the survival of all. Most of us do not like that idea. It impinges on our freedom of action. However, when you live on a planet where our individual actions must affect others for good or ill, then knowing what this Objective Measure of Value is and applying it to our own actions, is absolutely necessary for our planet's survival.

When all life forms(people) use the same measure for personal good and bad,it means we can aggregate and sum up all the individual goods into an objective measure of the common good = an Objective Measure of the General Welfare.

How do I prove this to someone?

Since 1985, I have shown at least 35,000 people what this measure is in person, face to face, plus many hundreds of thousands on the radio. I started doing this after publication of may article on Coase was blocked by an anonymous referee, despite my Professors saying I was right. So I started publishing anyway as the duty of a scientist is to publish after you make a discovery. By 1990, I started to hear my words come back to me over the radio and TV = cost minimization.

So after getting someone to agree that this 'objective, rap it with your knuckles' measure must be the one thing common to everything they do, I would ask; "What is the one thing common to everything you do? Three people out of the 35,000 got it right.

So I would ask, "What do you see when you look in the mirror in the morning?". Usually with a little nudge, they would admit that they saw themselves, their body, their life form. Ergo, your life form is the one objective, rap it with your knuckles, thing common to everything you do.

Next, I would ask, "How many hours a day do you have alive in your body?"
"Why, 24 hours" they would answer.
"How about the bug on the floor if it should live so long"; "The same."
"And the E-T in the Andromeda galaxy?"; "The same."

So then I would ask, "That means you have one unit of time alive per unit time?; "Yes."

Then I would say, "So the real question is, How do we use(spend) our time alive to get what we need to say alive, isn't it?" "Yes."

Then I would whisper in their ear, "We try to use as little time as possible, don't we; because when we take to long, we die." "Yes."

So your own personal objective measure of value is, of course, your life form. A life form is objective, we both can rap it with out knuckles. Your life form is common to everything you do until death. And every life form in the universe has the same amount of time alive per day = 24 Earth hours, if they should live so long.
i.e. One unit of time alive per unit time as measured by the speed of light. Notice I just plugged us into e = mc^ (c^ = c squared).

As we saw above the real question is, "How do we use our time alive to get what we need to stay alive?" The answer was, "As little as possible.". That's because when we take to long to get what we need to keep our life forms alive, we die. ERGO, almost all of you until you read this are UNCONSCIOUS Own Time Cost Minimizers. You all know what staying unconscious gets you. Dead! Wake up, smell the roses, we have a conservation debt made of Anti-Matter coming due. I do know that almost all of you want to stay alive.

8-12-2008 How Did I Figure This Out and What Does It Mean For Doing Science?

The beginning is the best place to start. Ronald Coase, Nobel Prize in Economics in 1991 for asking this simple question in "The Problem of Social Cost" Journal of Law & Economics, October 1960, "Who should society make pay for causing a cost to another person's person or property?" He made clear that each person owned their property 100%. He pointed out that there were two possible ways society could enforce Liability for a cost by anyone upon another's 'property or person'.

It turns out that his question and showing why he was mistaken directly implied what and how this Objective Measure of the Common Good worked. Coase by his assumptions constructed a conserved but growing 'universe' that required, by construction, that you must use a piece of the universe as a fixed measure all other possible variables were compared. As we will see this was a crucial assumption by Coase and explains his wonderful error = 'wrong' prediction.

Coase gave a great example: A Cattleman and Wheat farmer who lived next to each other. The CM cattle trampled or ate some of the farmers wheat. Somebody was going to bear the cost of the lost wheat, the only real question from societies point of view is' "Who do we make pay for causing the cost?". Coase pointed out there were two ways to assign Liability; Strict Liability = CM pays for the damage his cattle causes, OR No Liability = the WF pays the CM not to damage him in the future. Golly, that sounds exactly like the legal definition of extortion.

BUT, when Coase compared the Q of G&S XCed of the two alternative ways of assigning liability, he found there was no difference. Crime had no cost. Our corporations loved his answer. Now they could bribe legislators to change the laws to let them sell Not Hurting People = Not Polluting.

It took me eight years to find his procedural error = an example of the Fallacy of Non-Attribution explained in Why Coase's Theorem is Wrong, Politics, and Scientific Publication.

Once I figured out Coase, I asked "How must we work for this result to be true?"

The most important thing it implied for us right now is: We have a conservation debt made of Anti-Matter that must be dealt with for us to reap the fruits of self-awareness.

Our first public question: Must I, Dan alter, withhold information needed to prevent our conservation debt of Anti-Matter from striking the Sun on July 16, 2012, unless we publicly show by deed that we have become Lawfully civilized???

It is an ethical question that I can not set aside. I have been working on the warning for 18 years and assumed that saving Earth and us was a given. But now I can not so assume. Since I am not the only one involved, the rest of you must help me decide. While it is not 100% certain that my knowledge of how to disconnect our A-M debt is crucial, it is very probable it is.

Why the ethical question? Right now we live on a planet that does not demand its leaders or its citizens speak the truth in public. We are a Three Monkey Society(3MS). Totally unethical in our public dealings with each other. That has bad consequences.

As history and the existence of our present 3MS leaders show, corrupt and psychopathic people will inevitably take over a society of "unconscious own time cost minimizers". Enforcing accountability costs time and is disagreeable. Unconscious own cost minimization means we citizens do not understand the consequences of letting our 3MS leaders borrow to cover up their crimes. Inevitably compound interest ensures the accumulated debt ends in an almost instantaneous Catastrophic Financial Collapse.

When a planet uses floating exchange rates to trade debt backed currencies as Earth does, then NOT agreeing in public on how debts must be handled inevitably leads to a devastating and very abrupt financial collapse. Not only have we not agreed on how to handle debts(we make the lender swallow the bad debt in public as soon as we find out); but worse, we citizens are letting our leaders get away with the worst crime of all which is, "sworn leaders seeing, hearing, and speaking no evil about other leaders mistakes, crimes, and public lies". Without us enforcing immediate accountability, 3MS leaders have, are, and will continue borrowing more of our money to cover up their crimes.

Clearly America's citizens believe in a free lunch because they will not pay the price of eliminating bad debts from our financial system. This denial starts with not holding our elected leaders strictly accountable.

Without learning from immediate pain, ordinary citizens ignore obvious evidence of the worst crime of all: letting any sworn leader get away with covering up and ignoring crimes committed by another sworn leader. As history shows, ignoring this crime always condemns those societies to depression, war, and mass suffering. Since there are many more ordinary citizens than 3MS leaders in a democracy, there is a simple way to stop these results, demand our elected leaders start enforcing legal accountability upon our leaders pronto.

"Objective facts" are eyewitness measurements and observations that are confirmed by other honest reporters. Thus "Objective facts" can only be created by two or more honest people. Since science is for all of us, this must mean negative or positive public feedback from anyone who sees "logical and observational discrepancies" in any scientist's public assertions. How else can our reports and theories be confirmed, improved, or disproved?

I, Dan Alter, made a fundamental scientific discovery in 1985. What "objective" measure of value that we spirits/souls all must and do use to keep our life forms alive. Presently here on Earth, almost always unconsciously. How to measure personal value and thus the common good. We unconsciously value(logically order) any piece of information we perceive through this measure. Thus knowing consciously what it is and how we use it must serve as the 'objective' causal premise for a scientific Grand Unification Theory.

It is a measure that by construction, assumes a conserved universe: One unit of time per unit of time alive, and no take backs.

In a conserved universe, we spirits must create a conservation debt made of Anti-Matter to keep our life forms alive. The only two questions that matter now are: 'when does the debt came due?', and 'can we disconnect from it?'. The answer to doing a disconnection is, of course, yes. God always gives us a final out. But doing a disconnection means I must show us how to go faster than light(FTL). Should my prediction of how to do FTL be true, then it is simple to do and within our technological capabilities.

Which takes me back to my ethical question, "Must I withhold this crucial information?" for this reason. By the common measure of value we all use, Earth's human society is, by inspection, a fundamentally dishonest, immoral, murderous, and criminal Three Monkey Society(3MS) led by quintessentially 3MS leaders.

3MS leaders are the inevitable result of NOT having a real public place to question and challenge one another about our public speech and related deeds. 3MS leaders are now found in every area of public endeavor, especially the sciences. Climate-gate is an obvious result.

The methods of our 3MS leaders and their supporters are simple. They suppress dissent by first ignoring criticisms and questions from citizens who feel, see, and can witness their hurtful actions = the Big Ignore. Push further and they call you names instead of answering = Attack the Messenger. They always hide and distort critically needed public information to evade public accountability for their mistakes and crimes = the Cover-Up. Though ostensibly elected and sworn to serve all; they think and act like a corrupt aristocracy.

Finally, they lie constantly and get away with it with the Big Ignore. Thus we require a safe public place where our information and charges can be verified by questions from anyone and confirmed by other witnesses.

The remedy is the No 1st Cost List. It is the only way we can use the internet to create a planet-wide public place that treats all of us as equals. Anybody can be a member. You have complete free speech about politics, science, the arts, to sell or solicit anything legal, and of course, especially to report lies and crimes done by sworn leaders or businesses. Above all, the N1CL is where honest citizens can work together as equals to solve our common problems, beginning with democratically, legally, and swiftly removing the 3MS leaders that we let govern us now.

One of the N1CL's highest services is to Objectively Verify or Disprove warnings of danger to Earth or anybody on Earth.

This verification of our danger and the subsequent disconnection must be done in front of all. We face a public danger, and so we must join together in public to face our common danger as a consciously just society. We can not let our present 3MS leaders ignore this warning to our death.

I am a scientist. I have sworn to tell the truth on this public record.

I have a fearful prediction for the rest of you to confirm. At first, it was just a theoretical prediction with no objective evidence supporting it; but since 1992, a series of published scientific reports have verified every single causal link in the underlying theory, and now we there is a way to conclusively confirm the theories' ultimate conclusion.

For life to exist on a planet, we objectively real spirits must create a planetary conservation debt made of Anti-Matter(A-M) when we make our life forms move. Our spirits put our A-M debt onto the other side of our Moebius Strip Geometry Universe. Eventually a planet's conservation debt comes back to Earth striking our Sun, or it must be consciously disconnected. Our public choice.

Most present scientists deny that our life forms are driven by objectively real spirits, and they also believe that Einstein's Relativity Theory shows there is no base "frame of reference" that tie all other personal "reference frames" together. As we will see, both assertions are proven wrong when it is shown that we have an A-M conservation debt.

The crucial piece of proof that we are, in fact spirits, is that the E-Ts warning message shows exactly how our conservation debt made of Anti-Matter strikes our Sun, vaporizing Earth, leaving an Afterglow of expanding cooling gases. These afterglows were first seen by the Hubble after a 1997 Long Term Gamma Blaster(LTGB). Now we have seen many more afterglows after a LTGB occurs = vaporized life bearing planets.

The E-T public warning is a chilling four or five part message that includes two famous crop circles. The first was the "Barbary Castle" placed down on July 17, 1991 at 1:45 AM UTC that shows us how we are vaporized and the 'afterglow' that follows. It was followed exactly to the minute three years later by the Shoemaker-Levy comet that struck Jupiter on July 16, 1994(leap year) at 20:13 PM UTC. The third part of the E-T warning was the 'Missing Earth" crop circle On June 26, 1995 showing an asteroid conjunction.

The remaining parts of the E-T's warning message are one or probably two asteroid conjunction(s)' that can not occur naturally' = "must be caused by someones not from Earth". We will know which possibility after our astronomers look.

Read carefully, think, consider carefully, then act. Everyone's life depends upon our acting consciously and swiftly in public.

Predicted Conjunction(s)
When the asteroid conjunction shown in the 'Missing Earth" occurs on July 16, 2009, there will be a second conjunction on July 16, 2012 which decisively sums up the E-T's message.

Should the asteroid conjunction occur on July 16, 2012, then we will not get a second conjunction, and we will have to use other measurements to determine exactly when.

Confirming that one or both of these 'must be caused' asteroid conjunctions exists confirms that the message must be from E-Ts, since we Earthlings can not move asteroids into conjunction. Read More.

Dan: Thr stock market did the strangest price/volume action I have ever seen. Only a 45 pt DJ trading range while staying between 7-8 up to 7-8 down on the print. A knocked flat line that held -7 until less than 5 minutes to close, then finished down in a rush at -13 plus.

Dan: My God Three Monkey Society(3MS) leaders are predictable. The "Hurt Locker" wins best picture. They hate Avatar's message that "we are brutish life destroying exploiters.". Three Monkey Society leaders are just that, brutal life destroying exploiters, and they own the major media lock, stock, and barrel. As the Ice Save vote in Iceland shows, over 98% of us do not want to be forced to pay off someone elses fraudulent stupid loan, most especially crooked loans made by corporations and banks run by 3MS leaders. What they are doing is in your face stealing of innocent people's money and livelihoods, nay they by ignoring and lying, steal any possibility of a civilization based upon equal application of our laws against stealing. The best you can say about a free citizen of a democracy that would put up with that is, not very bright.

Dan: The certain objective implication of what Goedel proved: Niall Ferguson at Information Clearing House.info in 'Empires On The Edge Of Chaos', "Some theorists of complexity would go so far as to say that complex systems are wholly nondeterministic, meaning that it is impossible to make predictions about their future behavior based on existing data.". xxxx What Ferguson said implies saying this, 'I(we) don't know what causes these collapses.'. As Goedel proved, then we need to objectively = by deed change and/or add to our "theoretical description" to eliminate the unexplained. Discovering the needed 'objective logical premise and/or changes' describes exactly what scientists have to do to achieve the objective public purpose of science: To create a theory(logical structure organized by objective cause and effect) that ultimately makes perfect objective predictions. Perfection being what it is, we won't run our of work, and it can pay well.

Dan: Anyway you slice the E-T warning message: Either they don't know how to do a disconnect; or they do know how. But out of necessity, and morality arises directly from necessity; in either case, a Three Monkey Society(3MS) can not be let loose upon other life bearing planets. The reason is clear why the E-Ts would not under any circumstances show us how to do FTL. 3MS leaders will save themselves, not us. They always put themselves first. The solution is obvious, end our 3MS. Do the do, we must set an example, George is perfect. I, you, the E-Ts want Earth to live, but not as vicious predators.
